transforming elearning into eperormance

You’re sold on the benefits of performance support (PS), but your internal customers don’t “get” it. With an LMS full of eLearning courses, your learning organization isn’t ready to jump full-bore into a PS approach to learning, and your IT department won’t be investing in PS delivery technology anytime soon. How can you use your existing assets to create working solutions that prove the worth of PS?

Using a systems training case study, this session will demonstrate how conventional eLearning content can be repurposed so that it’s accessible and targeted to Gottfredson & Mosher’s 5 Moments of Learning Need — using technology you likely already have. We’ll explore the transformation of an existing eLearning course into a blended solution that provides performance support, explanation, and training within the confines of the original authoring tool (Storyline 360). In doing so, we’ll look at content, user interface, and navigation redesign to optimize usability for each moment of need.

After this session, you will be able to:

  • Map content found in a typical eLearning course to the moments of learning need.
  • Transform content to serve the purposes of performance support, explanation, learning reinforcement, and reference.
  • Leverage the capabilities of your eLearning authoring tool to make the content usable at each moment of need.
