Microlearning on the GO!

Faciltator: Shannon Tipton, Learning Rebels, LLC

Session Description:

Microlearning holds a great deal of appeal in today's modern corporate workplace, where convenience and ease of information access is the priority. Learning on the go is rising in demand for busy corporate learners who need to receive just-in-time information at their own convenient pace.

Participants will experience microlearning as an ideal solution for "just-in-time" performance support situations and learning retention activities. In this session, participants will explore the real-life example of a sales team using microlearning as performance support for a new product rollout. Then, how a group of instructional designers looking to improve their design skills, used microlearning as small points to support spaced learning reinforcement. All proving that with the right tools and proper framework, microlearning can make businesses and their people more successful, efficient and productive.

But the fun doesn't stop there! Participants will see that relevant micro support can be easily created to help workers in all aspects of the job and will have an opportunity to create actual microlearning content, displaying that creation need not be overly cumbersome or difficult. This will directly demonstrate how to fold large and complex learning programs into microlearning content, understanding this is the next necessary step in workplace training and development.

Microlearning on the go, with the proper framework, has the potential to make learning more powerful to the worker and a natural part of the modern learning workplace culture.
