Not Getting to Levels 3 & 4 is Like Kissing Frogs!

by Linda Hainlen

Friday, February 21st, 2020

Many organizations fall short of getting the most from their project investment because their learning participants do not adequately utilize their new knowledge. In this fun interactive session, learn from a Kirkpatrick Partner’s certified facilitator how to ensure true learning outcomes are obtained for your organization. Pitfalls to avoid as well as tips for success will be presented. Don’t get stuck kissing frogs when learning participants fail to properly move from learning to performance. Instead, learn how to obtain the crown of true outcomes!

This interactive session is based on a case study from a project I completed at IU Health and how I reached outcomes using the Kirkpatrick Four Levels of Evaluation. My journey was not completely smooth. My training went great but performance did not happen automatically just because I provided stellar training. I had to utilize the principles in the Kirkpatrick Model to regroup and reach outcomes. A Disney Princess and the Frog theme will by utilized with this presentation to help drive home specific topics.

The Kirkpatrick 4 Levels truly changed the trajectory of my career. I learned that I was making measurement way too difficult and moved from an order taker in my organization to a business partner with a seat at the table.

Objectives:

  • Begin with the end in mind and align with desired project outcomes
  • Obtain measurable outcomes and get more from the training investment
  • Become an organization partner instead of an order taker
