Session Description

Organizations across most industries are finding that survival with today’s pace of change requires adaptability. This session gives an overview of what adaptability looks like in L&D and its importance to sustainability, a competitive advantage and future readiness. We will focus on the essential skills related to adaptability and ways to develop them individually and within a team. This will guide attendees in creating an adaptability roadmap to career and performance success. 

As attendees to this program, members will:

1.      Define adaptability and its importance to talent development
2.      Discuss examples of adaptability skills and how we use them to show up in the workplace
3.     Recognize how adaptability builds personal capability

4. Discover ways to develop adaptability skills using a roadmap

Session Takeaways/Outcomes

Members will get a preview of one of the numerous tools available in my latest book—Adaptability in Talent Development. They will gain ideas for creation of their custom roadmap as we leverage an adaptability model that they can put into action immediately to launch their success for 2022.

About Dr. Esther Jackson

Dr. Esther Jackson is a people potential accelerator with a proven history and background reflecting a host of capabilities. As a proven leader of innovation and change, Dr. Jackson has a myriad of experiences in HR leadership, project management, talent development, and diversity and inclusion. Her dedication and commitment to the development, productivity, and performance success of others has helped propel her in multiple roles in the public and private sectors. Currently, Dr. Jackson serves as a National Advisor for Chapters with the Association for Talent Development (ATD). She works as a Project Manager in Michigan. She is also an author, college instructor, and consultant.

She has presented at local and national events with ATD ICE, NAAAHR-State of Michigan, and Training Magazine Conference & Expo. The areas of her specialization for presenting and facilitating are adaptability, change management, emotional intelligence, instructional design/training, leadership development, and more. Active involvement with ATD chapters across the U.S., keeps her in the mode of networking, collaborating, and reaching greater potential. Some of this potential is unleashed in her recent book—Adaptability in Talent Development.

Education is the area of study for her doctorate and her master’s. The doctoral research she completed in late 2018 on generations in the workplace classroom has received over 1,000 downloads. She holds an AQ Foundations Certification, and she is completing her Certified Diversity Executive program.
