Session Description

Jean Thomson and David Jarvis invite you to observe a "play within a play" during the July monthly program.  In March 2021, David was extremely discontent in his role as the leader of talent development for a global organization.  Through a colleague, he met Jean Thomson who became his career coach over the course of the next six months.  Through this relationship, Jean and David explored Workstyle Patterns and the implications to workplace and role alignment...in other words...job satisfaction and personal happiness. Since then, Jean and David continue to collaborate on their vision for a leader development program which contributes to meaningful, head AND heart-centered, employee and manager engagements.  We contend these engagements have potential to positively impact employee satisfaction and retention.

The July Program aligns to the ATD Capability Model as it considers organization development, performance improvement, collaboration and leadership.

Session Takeaways/Outcomes

As attendees to this program, members will:

  1. Examine the impact of the Great Resignation on the post-COVID19 Workforce.
  2. Consider how employee recognition could impact employee retention.
  3. Explore the components of leader development programs including empathy, coaching, deep listening, quiet observation, and active reflection.
  4. Learn about WorkStyle Patterns™ and the indicators of alignment vs. misalignment with your work.
  5. Receive a "wire frame" of a leader development program tp build out and customize for your personal use.
