Delivering Live training - whether virtually or face-to-face - can be a nerve-wracking or challenging endeavor. There are more "make or break" moments in facilitation than there are in other aspects of a learning professional's position - from technology that doesn't work, to participants who are unresponsive or are multi-tasking, to time management. This interactive session will offer strategies for some of the most common challenges facilitators of live training events face from Sophie Oberstein, author of Troubleshooting for Trainers.

About Sophie:
Sophie Oberstein is an author, coach, adjunct professor, and L&OD consultant helping individuals who are seeking increased effectiveness and satisfaction at work. She's been in the field of learning and organizational development for over 20 years at public and private organizations, including Weight Watchers, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, the City of Redwood City, California, and Citibank.
Oberstein is on the faculty of the NYU School of Professional Studies where she developed and conducts the fundamentals and advanced courses in the learning design certificate program. She also facilitates several of ATD's certificate programs.
Her books - Troubleshooting for Trainers (2020), 10 Steps to a Successful Coaching (2nd edition, 2020) and Beyond Free Coffee & donuts: Marketing Training and Development (2003) are available from ATD Press.
Oberstein is a certified co-active coach and past president of ATD's Greater Philadelphia chapter.

Lisa Robinson is our Talent Development Essentials Community of Practice Leader!
Lisa brings diverse experience in Talent Development, Human Resources, curriculum development, and consulting. She has over 20 years of experience in organizations including University of Indianapolis, Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, Bristol-Myers Squibb, The ARS Group, and University of Evansville.
In her work, Lisa applies knowledge gained from earning an MS - Education in Learning Design & Technology, and a Master’s in Management. She is also a Certified ScrumMaster.
